I found that I have my best performance when I wake up in the morning yes, I play before work.

Join a quick 5 minute public session on any server or gungame match. Maybe you better log out and watch some netflix or play tetris. Just make the best out of it. Sometimes playing with less players than the enemies and winning rounds can be extremly motivating, can turn things and lead to a winning streak of many rounds. At that time many ruiners get picked up and play normal again. Do not flame back or react, because it reduces your focus and concentration. Better take the lead and do some commands for the rest of the players to show that you totally ignore him.

Your email address will not be published. You could do some more analytical research on this by adding your games on https: For me the ranking system has been very strange! Feels like the weight of the rank up is partly dependant on how much below the average you are and how often you win as someone under the average. I knew I had some lucky games, but the end result is what matters.

And then I lost 13 games in a row and was dropped to Bronze.

The reverse is true here: Unfortunately, if your MMR has indeed been inaccurately affected by a losing streak in your placement matches, the solution is to just play more games. It may take more games than if you had won some of your placement matches, but your MMR will end up where it should be eventually. The solution here is not to delete the replay, though; this would remove the replay from the other 9 players in the match as well, and we need more replays uploaded in order to be confident in MMR calculations.

Some players have contacted me about MMR accuracy, believing they should be higher on the leaderboard. Firstly, make sure you have played a good amount of games. When you start out, your MMR is unknown to me, and the system has to guess at your skill. Don't spend too much time thinking about MMR if you haven't uploaded at least replays, and preferably more.

If you have a lot of replays uploaded, how can you determine if the MMR I calculate is accurate?

MMR Information

Generally, each team's average MMR should be pretty similar. There are times where MMR isn't accurate. In cases where established players have only uploaded a few replays, their true MMR is unknown to me, while Blizzard probably has a pretty good idea of it. FIBS takes a player's experience into account when determining the rating change after a match is completed.

Only a player's own experience level is used in this calculation; not the opponent's experience. FIBS considers a player to be "experienced" when the player has an experience level of or more. This number is simply the running total of the length of all matches completed. In other words, a "newbie" starts with experience 0; after completing a 1-point match, the experience would change to 1; after a 5-point match, it would then increase to 6; and so on.

FIBS adds the length of the match to the player's experience before performing the ratings calculation.

If your rating is or higher when the match is over, experience does not affect the ratings calculation as described above; i. If experience level is less than , the rating change for that player will be more: If experience is , the rating change is doubled.

If experience is , rating change is tripled. Experience of means rating change is quadrupled. And for an experience level of 0 let's see how closely you've been paying attention; why is this not possible? This is actually a continuous function, i. The experience factor never falls below 1.

So, what does all this mean? Simply that once it is or more, your experience level isn't a factor in your rating change calculations. When you're very new on FIBS, and for your first several hundred games, your rating is very volatile and will go up and down a lot. FIBS takes player ratings into account when calculating ratings changes. If you defeat the best player on FIBS, your rating should go up a lot more than if you beat the worst player; similarly, if you lose to the best player on FIBS, your rating shouldn't suffer nearly as much as if you had lost to the worst player on FIBS.

FIBS does, in fact, work this way! Some people mistakenly think they will automatically hurt their rating by playing stronger players, and help their rating by playing weaker players. FIBS takes all this into account. FIBS calculates the probability of winning a match based on the difference in ratings between the two players and the length of the match. The larger the difference in ratings, the more "mismatched" the two opponents are, and the higher the probability of the favorite winning any given game of the match.

The longer the match, the more likely the best player will win the match.
